Andrew Gwynne was elected on 5th May 2005 as the new Labour MP for the Denton and Reddish parliamentary constituency in Greater Manchester. 

Briefly about Andrew Gwynne:

• He is 33-years old;
• Married with three young children; 
• Lives locally in Denton, where he grew up;
• Educated at Egerton Park High School, Tameside College, North East Wales Institute and Salford University;
• He has served as a Labour Councillor on Tameside MBC since 1996, representing the Denton West Ward; 
• He is also a member of the new trade union UNITE (formerly Amicus and AEEU), the Co-operative Party and the Christian Socialist Movement; 
• He is currently the Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Home Secretary, the Rt Hon Jacqui Smith MP
• He previously served as a PPS to the Rt Hon Baroness Scotland of Asthal QC, as a Minister in the Home Office between November 2005 and July 2007.
• Andrew is also the Chair of Labour Friends of Israel, Vice Chair of the North West Group of Labour MPs, Vice Chair of the All-Party Group on Children's Play,  a member of the Procedure Committee and of the Court of Referees.
