Blog>>> Hitting the campaign trail in Reddish - 09:15 am, Tue 20th Apr 2010
It was time to take the message the streets last weekend as we had a campaign event and Street Stall at Houldsworth Square in Reddish.
We had party members from all over the constituency in attendance, including Andrew Bennett, who used to be the MP for Denton and Reddish before me. It was a really good way to speak to people and see what concerns they had about the local community.
In this picture the Denton and Reddish Labour Party are hard at work finding out the issues that matter to the local community.
Blog>>> Question time at Whitehall Primary - 09:09 am, Tue 20th Apr 2010
The general election campaign is truly underway in Denton and Reddish, and I was recently put through my paces at a question time event held at Whitehall Primary School.
I addressed the morning assembly and took lots of very interesting questions from all the pupils there, some of the questions were as tough as the question we get in the House of Commons. I later gave talks to the year 4 and year 5 pupils, which I really enjoyed.
Here I am pictured with Pupils from the School Council after taking questions from the Whitehall Primary Pupils.
Blog>> The most important general election for a generation - 03:22 pm, Wed 14th Apr 2010
The general election campaign has been called and gives us some pretty big choices to make about who will run the country. We had the launch of the campaign in Tameside on Saturday.
I am very proud to have served the people and Denton and Reddish in Parliament for the past five years. I have always done my very best for the community and taken on any issues that have affected people.
I live in the community, which I believe is important to fully understand the challenges facing us here in Denton and Reddish. With your support I will be returned as your MP and continue to lobby hard in the next parliament for our community.
It is important you have your say on who will run the country, so make sure you get registered on the electoral roll. If you are away, make sure you get a postal vote, as the last date for these is April 20th.
